SAFE PEST CONTROL / BUSINESS PEST CONTROL
Signs of possible termites in a warehouse
Warehouses containing timber, pallets or packaging should be checked for unusual signs. Here is how to record observations before discussing a survey.

1. Look for mud tubes
Small mud trails on walls, floors or materials may need inspection. Take close-up and wide photographs and record the location.
2. Record changes to timber and pallets
Hollow timber, thin surfaces or weakened structures need further assessment. Timber damage has several possible causes; one photograph is not enough for a conclusion.
3. Notice shed wings and unfamiliar insects
Record the time and area if wings accumulate or unfamiliar insects appear near doors and lights. Correct identification is needed to distinguish winged termites from other insects.
4. Gather details before contacting a specialist
Prepare the warehouse address, photographs, first observation date, affected materials and treatment history. Discuss the signs with a qualified person before intervening yourself.
